Sunday, September 7th
Join us to celebrate our efforts to support Lutheran World Relief’s “Growing Hope Globally” campaign supporting farmers in Peru. We will gather for a brief worship at 10:30am (hopefully in the outdoor pavilion!) … followed by a family-style cookout! You can also meet some of the farm animals our local youth are raising right here in Fayette County, in solidarity with the Peruvian farmers we will be supporting.
On Sunday, Sept. 7th, congregations of the ELCA will join together for our annual day of service. “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday began in 2013 in connection with the ELCA’s 25th anniversary. It continues to be an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the ELCA — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life — flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
